I started my career at Cardiff psychiatric hospital in 1983 specialising in occupational therapy and in addition to this, support counselling in a number of specialised areas.
I later joined St. Bartholomew’s and White chapel NHS hospitals London in 1993 and extended my training to infertility counselling.
In 1998 I moved into the private sector; The London Bridge fertility, Gynaecology and Genetics centre, as well as other clinics in central London, again specialising in Psychosocial and psychological counselling support in most fields.
I now work as an independent counsellor in all aspects of Mental Health care, and Gender communication in Central London and Buckinghamshire.
Throughout my 20 years’ experience I developed skills and techniques, which led me to believe in an integrative counselling approach.
Integrative counselling means I draw from a number of therapies: Humanistic, Person centred, Existential, CBT and Psychodynamic.
I use this therapeutic model according to the presenting issues of those seeking support. Aiding their development, gain awareness, clarity and understanding of what might be holding them back. Ultimately for them to take back control and enable choices, control and happiness.
